Be Born in Me ~ Hep Me See with Heaven’s Eyes

“In the moments of our lives, both the joyous and the tragic, If the truth is to be told, we are all pursuing magic. And the magic that we seek, as we’re sure you have discovered can be found in certain places, far more easily than others.” -Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Happy Christmas Dear Reader,

What did you write down yesterday? Perspective can help us to be calm and allay our fear. Sometimes I have to change my perspective to maintain a right heart and mind.

In our song that is the theme of this Christmas blog, the line is “Somehow help me see with Heaven’s eyes.” In case you have not noticed, the grains in the glass are slipping through the pinch. Time is fleeting. When Mary makes her statements about being what the Father wishes, the time starts; the sand flows.

Along the way, she has to keep her perspective. She must find a way to see with Heaven’s eyes. To begin the flow, the Father sends an angel. When Joseph doubts her, the Father sends an angel. When Jesus is born, the Father sends angels. Joseph and the Magi find in a dream that the Father uses an angel to warn them.

What I wish to do to claim a good purchase on Heaven’s perspective is to view things from the perspective of those who have never violated the Father’s love. These magnificent beings work to protect us from ourselves. They serve the Father by aiding us when we are the ones responsible for the death of the Son. Still, as we approach the grains of time that are Christmas, we see the angels helping to make the way. I honestly feel sorrow for their having to aid in repairing what we have destroyed.

I am also determined to honor their service by working to follow the Son more closely. I want to have Heaven’s perspective in all things. I wish to see through eyes that are not selfish or unloving. I long to view others as Christ does and love them as the Father loves the Son. I want my spirit to go forth every day of the year like the Spirit does, drawing the world toward the Son.

It is not about judgment, causes, and agenda. It is always about living out the love of the Father by following the Son. It is about regaining perspective when we fail. In the story we live, the angels do come down to look into what we do with the gift of the Son. I am writing down that I wish to live every moment in respect of the inquiry. I wish to follow the Son out of love for the Father but I would include a nod of respect to those angels that give all they are to that same service.

As you choose what you will write down today, Dear Reader, please keep in mind that we are surrounded by legions of those who see, obey, and constantly work to get all the world back to good. When an angel comes down to see about your benefit from the Son, I hope that you can find a perspective that honors his work. I pray that I can in every moment. By asking for Christ to be born in me, I am on the right path.

An Angel Came Down — Trans-Siberian Orchestra

An angel came down, one night to the Earth
A mission from God, to find out the worth
Of everything that His children had done
Since that winter night, the birth of His son
And then a sound filled the night
In the cold winter air
And in the midst of his flight,
It holding him there

And as he looked towards the Earth
For the source of the sound
On that cold winter night
It was pulling him down

To bring something back, this angel was told
That no one could touch, but angels could hold
So on that night when the sky had cleared
Among all the stars, an angel appeared

And then a sound filled the night
In the cold winter air
And in the midst of his flight,
It was holding him there

And as he looked towards the Earth
For the source of the sound
On that cold winter night
It was pulling him down

Wishing you joy in the journey,
